Our Choirs
Umpqua Youth Chorale will perform classical choral repertoire from Renaissance to the present in languages from around the globe. Three choirs comprise UYC: Prelude for elementary students, Cantata for middle grades, and Chorale for high school students and adults, ages 14 and up.
Prelude (coming soon)
Prelude is open to singers ages 5 to 11 in elementary grades. This choir will introduce young children to music theory, harmonies, and performance etiquette. The Prelude Choir will launch in the fall of 2027. Join our mailing list to get updates and be ready to sign up in the future!
Cantata
Cantata is open to singers ages 11 (grade 6) and up. This high-level choir will introduce youth to a challenging repertoire from around the world and through the ages. Singers will hone their performance skills and work on more complex harmonies and rhythms. Cantata is directed by Taylor Siling with accompanist Stacey Atwell-Keister. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 6-7 pm in the Fremont Middle School choir room.
Chorale
Chorale is for high school students and adults ages 14 and up. The focus of this group will be competition-level singing and touring. Chorale is directed by UYC founder Stacey Atwell-Keister and accompanied by Anna Allen. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 6-7:30 in the Fremont Middle School choir room.
